George W. Meeks

76, of Evansville, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Heritage Center Nursing Care.

George was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was devoted to his faith. At. St. Boniface, George served as a Sacristan and Eucharistic minister. George graduated from Mater Dei where he played football and was an avid Mater Dei and Notre Dame sports fan. George was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was devoted to his faith. He was employed at Hulman Co. and retired from Indiana Wholesalers. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul.

He is survived by brother, William Meeks and wife Mickie, of Evansville, IN; sister, Suzie Campbell and husband John, of Boonville, IN; nieces and nephews, David and Mike Meeks; Jeannie Bergner; Mary Crow, Sherry Vaal; Terry and Jerry Campbell; and Rodney and Rachel Meeks; and great nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Mary Meeks; and brother, Jerry Meeks.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 5, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 11:00 until service time at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N. Wabash Avenue, Evansville, IN.

Services will be Saturday at 12:00 P.M Noon at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with Father Kenneth Herr officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Heritage Center, Heritage Hospice and good friend, Dave Baumgart.
