Betty L. Cates, 83, of Evansville, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Woodlands Convalescent Center.
Betty retired from Bayhnam's Shoe Company. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by sons, Ron Cates and wife, Carol, of Evansville, Richard Cates and wife, Cathy, of Newburgh and Randy Cates of Newburgh; brother, Malcolm Stewart and wife, Margaret, of Henderson, Ky., and Morris Stewart and wife, Maxine, of Evansville; grandchildren, Erica Forsee, Brandon Cates, Dan Cates, Kelly May, Jennifer Cates and David Cates; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Cates, in 2000, and a brother, William Stewart Jr.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 8, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave.
Services 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Lynn Martin officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
